# Components:
→ Dough
01 - 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
03 - 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
04 - 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
05 - 1 cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F
06 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
07 - 1 large egg, room temperature
→ Honey Butter
08 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
09 - 2 tablespoons honey
10 - Flaky sea salt, for finishing
# Directions:
01 - In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Allow mixture to stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
02 - Add melted unsalted butter, room temperature egg, and fine sea salt to the bowl. Mix thoroughly to combine.
03 - Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead by hand or with a stand mixer for 7 to 9 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
04 - Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover tightly, and let rise in a warm location until doubled in volume, approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
05 - Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Punch down risen dough and turn onto a lightly floured surface. Divide into 12 equal portions, shape each into a ball, slightly flatten, fold into an oval, and place seam side down in the dish, overlapping slightly.
06 - Cover baking dish loosely and allow rolls to rise until nearly doubled, about 30 to 40 minutes.
07 - Preheat oven to 350°F.
08 - Bake rolls for 18 to 22 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and rolls are fully cooked.
09 - While rolls bake, blend softened unsalted butter with honey in a small bowl until smooth and well combined.
10 - Brush freshly baked rolls generously with honey butter and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Serve while warm.
