Crispy Garlic Lumpia Chips (Print View)

Thin, crunchy lumpia wrappers infused with garlic for a flavorful, crispy snack.

# Components:

→ Lumpia Wrapper

01 - 10 lumpia (spring roll) wrappers

→ Garlic & Oil

02 - 3 tablespoons neutral oil (canola or vegetable)
03 - 4 large garlic cloves, minced
04 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

→ Garnish (optional)

06 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or chives

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for 3 minutes.
02 - Stack the lumpia wrappers and cut into thin strips or triangles approximately 1.25 inches (3 cm) wide.
03 - Heat neutral oil gently in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until golden and aromatic, about 2 minutes, then remove from heat and cool slightly.
04 - Place the sliced wrappers in a large bowl, drizzle with the garlic-infused oil, season with sea salt and black pepper, then toss gently to ensure even coating.
05 - Place coated wrapper pieces in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook in batches as needed to avoid overcrowding.
06 - Air-fry for 5 to 7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until wrappers turn golden brown and crisp.
07 - Transfer the chips to a wire rack to cool. Repeat the process with remaining wrappers.
08 - Optionally sprinkle with chopped parsley or chives. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It turns a humble wrapper into something you will crave every week, crispy and garlicky without any deep frying mess.
  • You probably already have everything you need, and it takes less time than waiting for delivery.
  • The garlic infuses every bite with that warm, toasted aroma that makes even plain snacks feel special.
02 -
  • Do not skip the preheat step, cold air fryer baskets make the wrappers soggy instead of crispy.
  • If your garlic starts to darken too fast, pull the pan off the heat immediately because burned garlic tastes bitter and will ruin the whole batch.
  • Overcrowding the basket traps steam and you will end up with chewy chips instead of crunchy ones, so be patient and work in batches.
03 -
  • Use kitchen scissors instead of a knife for cleaner, faster cuts that do not drag or tear the delicate wrappers.
  • Shake the basket every 2 minutes instead of just once, it keeps the chips from sticking together and ensures even browning on all sides.
  • Let the garlic oil cool for a full minute before tossing, too hot and it will make the wrappers soggy before they even reach the air fryer.
